Moose Wins 1AA Championship

Even though Moose picked LSU, he still comes away with the 1AA championship, since the players right below him also picked LSU. Congratulations to Moose, who wins his second 1AA championship, and becomes the third player to do so. Last year, KaseyDH won his second 1AA championship, and in 2003, compcoug won for the second time. Moose was inducted into the Picks Club Hall of Fame in 2010.

We're pretty sure that Hooville won the 1A championship, but we're having a bit of difficulty with the database. We'll make an official announcement once the database error is corrected.

Weasel Wins Week 12 Pickmeister

The final week of the regular season was a very difficult one for everyone - there were a ton of upsets this week. It was so bad that only three players in the entire Picks Club managed to win 10 games or more. Weasel somehow won 11 games this week to become the last Pickmeister of the 2011 season. This is the 9th time in his career that Weasel has won the award. The last time he won it was way back in 2009 on September 19. Congratulations!

With Week 12 now in the books, we can congratulate our four division champions. Cougar in Big D won the Top 25 division, and he now joins Hooville as only the 2nd player to have 5 division championships in his career. SLC Transplant won the North division, coming from behind and passing up several players. This is the first time she has won a regular season title. Bama won the South division by 6 games, and he now has 4 division championships in his career. The only other player with 4 championships is White Lightning. Spartacus hangs on to the West division championship, and this is also his first division championship in his career. Congratulations to everyone for a great year of picks!

tripleD Wins the 2011 March Madness Picks

Congratulations to tripleD, who wrapped up the 2011 Picks Club March Madness Championship when Connecticut advanced to the National Championship game. If Kentucky had won instead, Conundrum would have won the championship for the second consecutive year. Instead, tripleD wins his first championship in his career, with only 87 points. He set a Picks Club record for the fewest points ever earned by a champion. The previous record was set in 2000 when Blue Coug won with only 91 points. Great work, tripleD!

tander123 Wins 1A Picksclub Title

Way back in January, 2011, tander123 became the 2010 1A Picks Club champion. He was 14-4 in the 3-5 point categories, which proved to be the difference in the standings. His winning percentage in these games was higher than everyone else in the 1A playoffs. In these games, he earned 59 of his total 70 points, which was also the most points earned in these rounds of the entire 1A playoffs. He beat out stiff competition from at least 5 other players who finished only five points behind. If even one of these players had been correct on just one more of the high-point bowl games, we may have had a different winner. This was a very competitive year in the Picks Club. With the 2010 1A championship under his belt, tander123 becomes only the 6th Picks Club player to win a division title and a 1A championship in the same year. By virtue of his championship, tander123 now qualifies for the Hall of Fame. Congratulations on a great season!

KaseyDH is 1AA Champion for 2010 Season

In the 1AA championship, we had a 3-way tie for first place. KaseyDH, Moose, and White Lightning all tied for first place with records of 13-4. This is different than what is currently shown on the playoff standings page. There was a mistake in the database in which most players were credited with fewer wins than they should have been. I'm not sure exactly what the problem was, but we'll try to get it fixed for this upcoming season. What's important is that we had to use the tie-breaker rule to find out who our champion would be. The table below shows why KaseyDH is the champion.

This is the second time KaseyDH has won the 1AA playoffs. He joins compcoug as the only player in history to win more than one 1AA championship. Because he won for the second time, KaseyDH qualified for the Hall of Fame. In the last week of the regular season, KaseyDH won his 10th Pickmeister Award, which also qualified him for the Hall of Fame. Congratulations on a great year, Kasey!
